Visiblity Made Easy

For women in academia who want their research to be seen

Like art, good research needs to be seen.

I know what it is like.

Sharing our work is not always easy.

Especially right now.

There is so much noise.
So many voices.
So much content — increasingly produced by AI.

We start to wonder:

Does my voice really add anything?
Am I ready share?
Who would care anyway?

The inner critic is quick to step in
as soon as we consider showing up online.

So we stay updated.
We read.
We follow conversations.

But we don’t always share our own ideas.

Over time, this can turn into invisibility.

We watch others be recognised, invited, promoted.
While we wait for our research to be discovered.

This can leave us feeling stuck in our heads, overthinking

and in fear of other people's judgment.

Where should I even begin?

Do I even have time?

What if people troll me?

Or laugh at me?

This is where Visibility Made Easy comes in.

Visibility Made Easy is for you if...

  • You don’t want to stay invisible, but don't know where to start.

  • You want visibility to feel easy, aligned - and even fun.

  • You want clarity on what to share — and where — without constant second-guessing.

  • You want to stop overthinking every post, comment, or idea.

  • You want to be more visible with minimum effort and maximum impact

  • You want to speak about your research with more confidence and integrity.

  • You want to quiet the inner critic that keeps telling you to wait.

  • You want to take the next step even if you don't feel “ready”.

  • You want support, so you no longer have to figure it all out by yourself. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

We don't need more brilliant woman doing invisible work

I’m on a mission to help more women be seen and heard in academia.

Are you with me?

In Visibility Made Easy, I help women in academia — like you — take an easier path from hiding to showing up with confidence and integrity, so they can be recognised for their research, access opportunities, and create meaningful impact — without overthinking or second-guessing.

By the end of six weeks, you will:

  • have enough clarity about your academic profile to get started

  • know what to share, where, and why

  • feel more comfortable sharing process, questions, and thinking — not just polished outcomes

  • recognise the inner critic sooner — and stop it from running the show

  • build confidence through small, concrete actions

  • free up mental space by letting go of unnecessary overthinking

Not by doing more.
But by doing what actually makes a difference — the easy way.

How "Visibility Made Easy" works

Who is Visibility Made Easy for?

Visibility Made Easy is for women in academia at any career stage who want to be more visible with their research - but feel stuck when it comes to stepping into the spotlight.

What do we do in  Visibility Made Easy?

We focus on getting started now, not someday. I know, you'll say, but I am not ready yet! I don't have time! Of course. But when will you ever feel ready or have enough time? Why not take the small first step to get started with the support of the group, and me by your side.

We go through six weekly modules together:

Module 1 – Starting from ease
Letting visibility be light through small leaps and experiments.

Module 2 – Your academic profile and mission
Finding inner clarity so external sharing becomes simple and consistent.

Module 3 – Quieting the inner critic
Releasing fear of judgment, criticism, and being “not enough”.

Module 4 – Showing up online (without the overwhelm)
LinkedIn, scholarly profiles, and other forms of presence — without questioning everything.

Module 5 – Your academic authority and voice
Different ways of being an authority. Writing prompts to help you claim your voice.

Module 6 – Confident, sustainable action
Making visibility part of your real life — without pressure or burnout.

Each module includes:

  • Weekly recorded training and group coaching sessions

  • Worksheets with reflection prompts

  • Writing prompts to get you started writing

  • A supportive online community for accountability

  • Access to me between sessions

  • Lifetime access to all recordings via our private community platform, Circle.

Each week is designed to fit into a busy academic life — one focus, one small experiment, one step forward.

You choose how and where you show up. Nothing is mandatory.

No pressure. No perfection. No falling behind.

How about accountability?

Each week, we use a private experiment thread in the community.

You’re invited to briefly share:

  • what small visibility experiment you want to try that week, and

  • what you notice or learn from it afterward.

This is not about reporting, performance, or doing things “right”.
It’s about making your intention visible -  and learning through experience - your own and others. You decide how much you share.

What if I’m scared of being judged or exposed?

This is a space for small steps, experiments and support. Visibility made easy is a playground that helps you test your ideas/posts and get developmental feedback - before you share them with the "big world". You’re never asked to share more than feels right.

Do I have to already be active on social media to benefit?

No. We talk about online presence, but you decide where and how you show up - and you need to be willing to start showing up online in small tiny steps.

What makes this different from just trying on my own?
If you already got this on your own, then "Visibility Made Easy" is probably not the right fit for you. But if you want support, community, and a structured, simple path to start becoming more visible, then I invite you to join.

Who Am I?

I’m an Associate Professor in Organisation and Management Studies, and an academic coach working with women in academia who want their work to matter — and to be seen.

Over the years, I’ve supported many women in clarifying their academic profiles and finding ways to show up more confidently with their research, without forcing themselves into visibility that doesn’t feel right.

My coaching approach is informed by Women-Centered Coaching, developed by Dr. Claire Zammit, and by my own long experience navigating academic life from the inside.

What am I all about?

I don’t believe visibility in academia should be about pushing harder, promoting yourself, or adding to the noise. For me, visibility is about clarity rather than constant output, about process rather than performance, and about taking small, intentional steps instead of big leaps. It’s about learning through creative experiments rather than staying stuck in overthinking. This perspective comes from my own academic journey. As a post-tenure academic, I’ve navigated periods of intense pressure and near burnout more than once. I know how easy it is to become invisible while doing meaningful work — and how difficult it can feel to step forward when you’re already stretched.

At the same time, I’ve built a sustainable academic career. I’ve secured over €1 million in research funding, published consistently, served as Head of Section, and participated in professorial recruitment processes — all while maintaining a life outside academia that matters to me.  I am a creative human being, who, besides being with family and friends, also loves art, craft, crocheting, drawing and poetry.

Anna, Associate Professor

"It was quite eye-opening to reflect on the beliefs I have about myself and about others around me and see how I could change them in very small steps. I found it particularly great about the program that Sanne guided us through this and was there at every step. It wasn't like "this is what you need to do now go do it" but in her coachings, exercises and journaling questions were designed in a way to make sure that we could really identify with the lessons. I saw many "Aha" moments also from other participants. " (Participant in another of my courses)

Joanne, Senior Lecturer

"The programme has been a lovely way to work with a small group to reflect and work through the various challenges that we are engaging with but also see that we are not the only person experiencing struggles in academia! Then, to have personalised questions and prompts from Sanne, who listens carefully to the challenge and the feelings accompanying it so that we can feel strong to identify for ourselves what we should do."
(Participant in another of my courses)

Alya, Senior Lecturer

"The program provides a friendly and extremely supportive space for developing new insights about moving forward on so many things I thought I already knew, in ways that zoomed me closer to what I really want from my career! Sanne is a wonderful coach and it was brilliant to work alongside other amazing academic women. Highly recommended!"

Natalie, Associate Professor
“I really enjoyed the sense of community that Sanne fostered, and how she created a safe space where we could openly share our beliefs and experiences without being judged. I also love Sanne's approach and manner as a coach - she is very attentive to each individual's needs and how to address those as a coach, but also felt like part of the group. The program content itself was clear and well-structured, and took us through a process of reflection and self-development that has completely changed how I see myself and my place in the world. I would highly recommend this course to any mid-career women in academia who are feeling overwhelmed or stuck or pulled in a thousand directions - I am leaving with a sense of calm and clarity that I didn't have before, and a clear plan for my career going forward." (Participant in another of my courses)

Estibaliz, Senior Postdoc

Sanne's course has been inspiring and eye-opening in so many ways. It really makes you think about who you are and who you would like to become. It has really changed something inside me, I am more aware of my inner critics and I understand why they are there. Totally recommended!
(Participant in another of my courses)

Mette, Senior Scientist

I really like the course since it puts focus on the challenges that women face in academia, which we mostly are struggling with all on our own. It was a big relief to realize that many other women face similar problems, and it was helpful to get good tools and feedback from Sanne on how to work with overcoming the challenges to obtain a more fruitful and cheerful career.
(Participant in another of my courses)

Nana, Senior Lecturer

The course provides a safe space to explore your own motivations, thought processes, problems and place as a woman in academia. Sanne Frandsen guides and supports brilliantly during the different exercises and provides practical advice as well as suggestions for future reading. I really enjoyed this course and it has provided a useful platform for discussions with my female colleagues.
